ययाति तीर्थ कालवा
महाराजा ययाति की यज्ञ स्थली
कुरुक्षेत्र भूमि का यह पवित्र तीर्थ महाराज नहुष के द्वितीय पुत्र ययाति से सम्बन्धित है। इन्हीं सम्राट ययाति की धर्मपत्नी देवयानी से उत्पन्न पुत्र यदु की भावी पीढ़ी में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने जन्म लिया तथा इनकी दूसरी पत्नी शर्मिष्ठा से उत्पन्न पुत्र पुरु के वंश में आगे चलकर कौरव और पाण्डव उत्पन्न हुए। वामन पुराण के अनुसार इस यायात तीर्थ में यज्ञ करने वाले राजा ययाति के लिए सरस्वती नदी ने मधु बहाया था। इस पुराण में ययाति के स्थान पर तीर्थ को यायात नाम से उल्लिखित किया गया है।

The place of yajna performed by king Yayati
This tirtha of Kurukshetra region is related to Yayati, the second son of king Nahush. Lord Krishna was born in the lineage of Yadu, who was the son born to king Yayati from his wife Devayani. Kauravas and Pandavas were born in the lineage of Puru, the son of the king Yayati from second wife Sharmishtha. According to the Vaman Puran, River Saraswati poured honey for performing yajna of king Yayati at this tirtha. In this Purana, instead of Yayati, the tirtha has been mentioned by the name of Yayaat.
