विष्णुपद तीर्थ बरसाना
बलि-वामन संवाद से सम्बद्ध तीर्थ
कहा जाता है कि यहां भगवान विष्णु वामन रूप में अवस्थित हैं जहां बलि ने वामन रूपधारी विष्णु से यह प्रश्न किया था कि पाताल में निवास करने पर वह किस विधि से निरन्तर उनका स्मरण कर सकेगा। तब वामन ने उसे बताया था कि अविधिपूर्वक दिए गए दान, श्रोत्रिय ब्राह्मण से रहित श्राद्ध तथा श्रद्धा रहित हवन तुम्हारा भाग बनेंगे। महाभारत के अनुसार इस तीर्थ सरोवर में स्नान कर भगवान वामन की अर्चना करने वाला मनुष्य सभी पापों से मुक्त होकर विष्णु लोक को प्राप्त करता है।

Tirtha related to Bali and Vamanaa
It is said that Lord Vishnu resides here in the form of Vaman. Bali had asked Vaman that by what method he will be able to remember Him continuously residing in the Paatal Lok. Then Vaman had told him that charity given without rituals, Shraddha without Brahmin and Havan done without faith have been destined for you in the netherworld. According to the Mahabharata, one who worships Lord Vaman after taking bath in the waters of this tirtha gets free from all sins and attains the world of Lord Vishnu.
