वेदवती तीर्थ बलवन्ती
प्राचीन कुरुक्षेत्र भूमि का रामायण कालीन तीर्थ
कुरुक्षेत्र भूमि के इस तीर्थ का उल्लेख रामायण के उत्तरकाण्ड तथा वामन पुराण में मिलता है। कहा जाता है कि इस तीर्थ पर रावण के अपमान से दुःखी होकर वेदवती ने अग्नि में प्रवेश किया तथा दूसरे जन्म में राजा जनक के यहां सीता के रूप में जन्म लिया। वामन पुराण के अनुसार यहाँ स्नान करने पर व्यक्ति कन्या यज्ञ के फल को प्राप्त करता है तथा सभी पापों से रहित होकर परमपद को प्राप्त करता है। महाभारत के अनुसार इस तीर्थ में स्नान करने से अग्निष्टोम यज्ञ के फल की प्राप्ति होती है।

Tirtha existed during the times of Ramayana
This tirtha of Kurukshetra region is mentioned in the Uttara Kanda of the Ramayana and in the Vamana Purana. It is said that at this tirtha, being saddened by the insult of Ravana, Vedvati entered into the fire and in the next birth was born as Sita in the house of king Janaka of Magadh. According to the Vamana Purana, by taking sacred bath here, a pilgrim gets the fruits of performing Kanya Yajna, gets rid of all sins, and attains the supreme position. According to the Mahabharata, by taking bath in this tirtha, one gets the merits of performing Agnishtom Yajna.
