Srikrishna Museum is the only museum on the theme of Krishna which was established in 1987. Sub-sequently it was shifted to the present building in 1991 and a new block was added to it in the year 1995. Multimedia Mahabharata and Gita Gallery was added to the museum in the year 2012. Museum now has total nine galleries. The archaeological artifacts from Kurukshetra, Haryana, Mathura and Dwarka have been displayed in the archaeological gallery of the museum. The other galleries display wooden, ivory and metal objects related to Krishna theme. The pattchitras, pichvais, tanjaur paintings and kangra miniatures on Krishna and Mahabharata theme and some rare manuscripts are the other attractions of the museum. However, the tableaux displaying exploits of Krishna and Mahabharata and the exhibits of Mahabharata Gallery are the main attractions of the museum.
