सोम तीर्थ पाण्डु पिण्डारा
सोमवती अमावस्या से सम्बन्धित प्रमुख तीर्थ
इस तीर्थ को महाभारत, वामन पुराण तथा पद्म पुराण में सोम (चन्द्रमा) देवता से सम्बन्धित बताया गया है। महाभारत के अनुसार जयन्ती (जीन्द) में स्थित सोम तीर्थ में स्नान करने पर मनुष्य को राजसूय यज्ञ का फल प्राप्त होता है। प्रचलित मान्यताओं के अनुसार इसी स्थान पर पाण्डवों ने बारह वर्ष तक सोमवती अमावस्या के आने की प्रतीक्षा की थी। जनश्रुति के अनुसार महाभारत युद्ध के बाद पाण्डवों ने इसी तीर्थ पर अपने पूर्वजों हेतु पिण्डदान किया था।

This tirtha is related to Som, the moon god in the Mahabharata, Vaman Puran and Padma Puran. According to the Mahabharata, a person gets the fruits of performing Rajsuya Yajna by taking bath in waters of this tirtha situated in Jayanti region (Jind). According to popular belief, Pandavas had waited for twelve years for taking bath here on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya. According to popular belief, after the Mahabharata war, Pandavas had performed Pinda Daan for their ancestors at this place.
