जनमेजय के नाग यज्ञ की स्थली
जनश्रुति के अनुसार नागदंश से अपने पिता की मृत्यु का बदला से लेने के उद्देश्य से परीक्षित के पुत्र जनमेजय ने सम्पूर्ण नागजाति को नष्ट करने के लिए ऋषियों एवं ब्राह्मणों के परामर्श से इस स्थान पर सर्पदमन नामक एक विशाल यज्ञ करवाया था। मन्त्रों के चमत्कारिक प्रभाव से बड़े-बड़े शक्तिशाली सर्प यज्ञकुण्ड में आकर गिरने लगे। अन्त में जरत्कारु ऋषि के पुत्र आस्तीक के कहने पर यज्ञ रोक दिया गया था। तीर्थ स्थित मन्दिरों का निर्माण महाराजा जींद द्वारा करवाया गया था।

Place of serpent sacrifice performed by king Janamejaya
According to popular belief, to take revenge for his father’s death due to snake bite, Janamejaya, the son of king Parikshit in consultation with sages and Brahmins, had performed a huge Sarpadman Yajna at this place to destroy the entire race of serpents. Due to the miraculous effect of the mantras, large and powerful snakes started falling into the sacrificial altar. Finally, the yajna was stopped at the behest of Aastik, the son of sage Jaratkaru. The temples situated at the tirtha were built by the king of Jind dating the Late medieval times.
