सन्निहित तीर्थ रामराय

इस तीर्थ का नामोल्लेख एवं महत्त्व वामन पुराण तथा महाभारत में विस्तार से वर्णित है। इस तीर्थ में सूर्यग्रहण के अवसर पर दान पुण्य करने का विशेष महत्त्व है। प्रचलित विश्वास के अनुसार प्राचीन सन्निहित सरोवर यहाँ रामहद में है, लेकिन बाद में इस सरोवर की मिट्टी से कुरुक्षेत्र में सन्निहित तीर्थ को बनाया गया। महाभारत के अनुसार सूर्यग्रहण के अवसर पर इस तीर्थ का स्पर्श मात्र कर लेने से श्रद्धालुओं को सैंकड़ों अश्वमेध यज्ञों के फल की प्राप्ति होती है।

The name and importance of this tirtha is described in detail in the Mahabharata and Vaman Puran. The charity made at this tirtha on the occasion of solar eclipse has special importance. According to popular belief, this tank is the real Sannihit Sarovar and Sannihit tirtha of Thanesar was built later on. According to the Mahabharata, the only touch of this tirtha on the occasion of solar eclipse provides the fruits of performing hundreds of Ashvamedha yajnas to the devotees.
