परशुराम से सम्बद्ध तीर्थ
यह पवित्र स्थल महर्षि जमदग्नि के पुत्र महर्षि परशुराम से सम्बन्धित है, जिनकी गणना भगवान विष्णु के दस अवतारों में होती है। महर्षि परशुराम ने आततायी व अत्याचारी क्षत्रियों के अन्यायपूर्ण व्यवहार से क्रोधित होकर क्षत्रियों का विनाश कर उनके रक्त से इस स्थल पर पाँच सरोवरों को भर दिया था। कहा जाता है कि इसी सरोवर के तट पर भीम और दुर्योधन का निर्णायक युद्ध हुआ था। महाभारत के अनुसार यहां पितरों का तर्पण देने से पितर संतुष्ट होकर व्यक्ति को संसार में दुर्लभ पदार्थ प्रदान करते हैं। इस तीर्थ में कपिल, यक्ष, यक्षिणी तथा महर्षि परशुराम के मन्दिर बने हुए हैं।

Tirtha related to Parashurama
This tirtha is related to sage Parashurama, son of sage Jamadagni, who is counted among the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Enraged by the unjust behaviour of the tyrannical and oppressive Kshatriyas, sage Parashurama, destroyed them and filled five tanks at this place with their blood. According to the Mahabharata, by offering tarpan to the ancestors, the devotee gets rare things in the world. It is also said that the decisive duel between Bhima and Duryodhana took place at the shore of this tirtha.
