भगवान शिव से सम्बन्धित तीर्थ
इस तीर्थ का सम्बन्ध भगवान शिव से है। वामन पुराण में इस तीर्थ का महत्त्व इस प्रकार वर्णित है कि इस तीर्थ में स्नान करने वाला मनुष्य कोटि यज्ञों के फल को प्राप्त करता है। तीर्थसेवी साधक कोटीश्वर महादेव के दर्शन करके गणनायक की उपाधि प्राप्त करता है। इस स्थान पर तीन अन्य तीर्थों की (ज्येष्ठाश्रम, विष्णुहृद एवं सूर्य तीर्थ) उपस्थिति भी बताई गई है। तीर्थ के समीप टीले से हड़प्पा संरकृति, धूसर चित्रित मृद्भाण्ड, मौर्य, शुंग, कुषाण एवं गुप्त काल की संस्कृतियों के प्रमाण मिले हैं।

Tirtha related to Lord Shiva
This tirtha is related to Lord Shiva. The importance of this tirtha is described in the Vaman Puran in such a way that a person who bathes in the tank of this tirtha gets the merits of performing crores of yajnas. The devotee dedicated to the tirtha gets the title of Gananayak after visiting Kotishwar Mahadev here. The presence of three other tirthas named Jyeshthashram, Vishnuhrad and Surya Tirtha has also been reported from the village. Archaeological remains of Late Harappan, Painted Grey Ware, Maurya, Shunga, Kushan and Gupta period have been found from its ancient mound.
