महर्षि कपिल से सम्बन्धित
यह तीर्थ महर्षि कपिल एवं उनकी माता देवाहुति के संवाद से सम्बन्धित है। महाभारत के अनुसार ब्रह्मचर्य व्रत का पालन करने वाले एवं श्रद्धायुक्त चित्त से कपिल तीर्थ में स्नान करके देवताओं एवं पितरों की पूजा अर्चना करने वाले व्यक्ति को सहस्र गऊओं के दान का फल प्राप्त होता है। वामन पुराण में कहा गया है कि इस तीर्थ में शिव का दर्शन करने वाला व्यक्ति मोक्ष पद का अधिकारी होता है। तीर्थ परिसर में ही 7वीं. शती ई. के ईंटो से निर्मित दो मन्दिर हैं जो भारत के विरल मन्दिरों में गिने जाते हैं।

This tirtha is related to the conversation held between sage Kapil and his mother Devahuti. According to the Mahabharata, a person who observes celibacy and worships the divinities and ancestors with a reverential mind after bathing in Kapil tirtha, gets the fruits of donating a thousand of cows. It is said in the Vaman Puran that a person who sees Shiva at this tirtha is entitled to salvation. Two brick temples of 7th century CE are at tirtha complex, which are among the rare brick temples of India.
