जरासन्ध का टीला असंध
प्राचीन बौद्ध स्तूप स्थल
यह टीला एक पुरातात्विक स्थल है जिसमें कि असन्ध के प्राचीन नगर की अनेक संस्कृतियों के निक्षेप दबे पड़े हुए हैं जिनके उभार को जनश्रुतियां महाभारत कालीन राजा जरासन्ध से सम्बन्धित बताती हैं। कहा जाता है कि असंधिवात नामक नगर पाण्डवों की दूसरी राजधानी थी। राजा परीक्षित के पुत्र महाराजा जनमेजय के समय असंधिवात एक धन-धान्य पूर्ण नगर था। जरासन्ध का टीला वास्तव में एक विशाल बौद्ध स्तूप का निचला भाग है है जिसका निर्माण कुषाण कालीन ईंटों से हुआ है।

The site of an ancient Buddhist Stupa
The archaeological mound is identified with ancient city of Assandh. Popular belief associate the site with king Jarasandh of the Mahabharata period. It is said that the city named Asandhivat was the second capital of the Pandavas. Asandhiwat was a prosperous city at the time of king Janmejaya, the son of king Parikshit. Jarasandh’s mound is actually the lower part of a huge Buddhist stupa which is built with Kushan bricks of Ist century CE.
