महर्षि गौतम को समर्पित तीर्थ
इस तीर्थ का सम्बन्ध गौतम ऋषि से है जिनकी गणना सप्तर्षियों में होती है। इनका उल्लेख महाभारत और रामायण में हुआ है। गौतम की पत्नी अहिल्या थी जो गौतम के श्राप से शिला बन गई थी। उत्तर रामायण के अनुसार श्रीराम के अनुज लक्षमण ने
गौतम ऋषि के आश्रम के समीप एक भव्य राजमहल बनवाया था। तीर्थ परिसर में
गिरी सम्प्रदाय के साधुओं के कई समाधि मन्दिर हैं। तीर्थ स्थित मन्दिर में पौराणिक
भित्तिचित्रों का अंकन है।

Tirtha associated with sage Gautama
This tirtha associated with sage Gautam who is counted among the seven great sages. He is mentioned in the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Due to curse of Gautama, his wife Ahalya turned into a rock. According to the Uttara Ramayana, Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Rama built a grand palace near the hermitage of sage Gautam. Tirtha premises comprises the Samadhi temples of sages of Giri sect. The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva at the tirthas comprises the wall paintings based on religious theme.
