Regarding this tirtha, many local legends are in vogue. According to one, Arjuna before proceeding to fight with Jayadratha rested for some time here and pierced the ground by an arrow called parjanyashtra to create water which quenched the thrust of his war-wary horses. Another legend is suggestive of Karna’s chariot being sunk and rendered immobile here and the warrior is known to have washed his gold plated tooth by virtue of the water created by parjanyastra. A brick made late medieval step well and adjoining ghats have been renovated by Kurukshetra Development Board. The tank of the tirtha is known for its north-south stretched bow like brick structure.
