अश्विनी कुमारों को समर्पित तीर्थ
अश्विनी कुमारों से सम्बन्धित होने के कारण ही यह तीर्थ अश्विनी तीर्थ के नाम से विख्यात हुआ। सुकन्या के आग्रह पर यहीं अश्विनी कुमारों ने च्यवन ऋषि को यौवन दान दिया था। सम्भवतः कालान्तर में अश्विनी का ही अपभ्रंश होने से यह गाँव आसन नाम से जाना जाने लगा। पाँचों पाण्डवों में नकुल एवं सहदेव इन्हीं अश्विनी कुमारों के माद्री से उत्पन्न पुत्र थे। वामन पुराण के अनुसार श्रद्धावान एवं जितेन्द्रिय मनुष्य अश्विनी कुमारों के तीर्थ में जाकर रूपवान और यशस्वी होता है।

Ashwini tirtha is associated with Ashwini Kumars, the physicians of the divinities. On the request of Sukanya, Ashwini Kumars had given youthful life to her husband sage Chyavan here. Among the five Pandavas, Nakul and Sahadev two Pandava heroes born to Madri, were the sons of Ashwini Kumars. According to the Vaman Puran, a devout and self-controlled person becomes handsome and famous by visiting this tirtha.
