कुरुक्षेत्र भूमि का एकमात्र गन्धर्व तीर्थ
गन्धर्वो से सम्बन्धित होने के कारण ही इसे गन्धर्व तीर्थ कहा गया है। शल्य पर्व में उल्लेख है कि यहाँ हलधर बलराम ने स्नान करके ब्राह्मणों को बहुत स्वर्ण और रजत दान करके उन्हे सन्तुष्ट किया था। महाभारत के अनुसार यह सरस्वती तटवर्ती एक प्राचीन तीर्थ था जहाँ विश्वावसु आदि अनेक गन्धर्व नृत्य आदि का आयोजन करते थे। भगवान कृष्ण के अग्रज बलराम जी ने इस तीर्थ के महत्त्व को समझते हुए ही इस तीर्थ की यात्रा की थी।

Tirtha associated with Gandharva
This tirtha is associated with divine dancers known as Gandharvas. It is mentioned in the Shalya Parva of the Mahabharata that Balarama, the elder brother of Krishna, after taking bath in the waters of this tritha satisfied the Brahmins by making donations of wealth, gold and silver to them. This tirtha was existed on the bank of River Saraswati where many Gandharvas like Vishwavasu used to organize dances. Considering the importance of this tirtha, Balarama must have visited it during his pilgrimage.
