त्रिविष्टप तीर्थ
प्राचीन वैतरणी नदी तट पर स्थित
महाभारत एवं वामन पुराण दोनों में ही इस तीर्थ को वैतरणी नदी के तट पर स्थित बताया गया है जो कि प्राचीन कुरुक्षेत्र की नौ नदियों सरस्वती, दृषद्वती, गंगा, मंदाकिनी, मधुस्रवा, वासुनदी, कौशिकी, हिरण्वती आदि प्रमुख नदियों में से एक है। इस तीर्थ का वर्णन महाभारत में पुण्डरिक तीर्थ के पश्चात आता है। महाभारत के अनुसार इस पवित्र नदी में स्नान करके एवं भगवान शिव की अर्चना करने से सभी पापों से मुक्त हुआ व्यक्ति परमगति को प्राप्त करता है।

Tirtha located on the bank of ancient River Vaitarni
In the Mahabharata and Vaman Puran, this tirtha is said to be situated on the bank of River Vaitarni, which is one of the nine rivers of ancient Kurukshetra, namely Saraswati, Drishadvati, Ganga, Mandakini, Madhusrava, Vasunadi, Kaushiki and Hiranyavati. This tirtha is mentioned in the Mahabharata after Pundarik tirtha. According to the Mahabharata, worshiping Lord Shiva after taking sacred bath in River Vaitarni, a person is freed from all sins and attains salvation.
