पाप कर्म नाशक तीर्थ
किंवदन्तियाँ इस तीर्थ का सम्बन्ध पाण्डवों की माता कुन्ती से जोड़ती हैं। इस तीर्थ का कुछ ऐसा प्रभाव रहा है कि यहाँ अनेक ऋषि-मुनियों ने तपस्या करके इसे और अधिक पवित्र बनाया। सम्भवतः उन सब के तपोबल के कारण ही यह तीर्थ प्राणियों द्वारा किए जाने वाले दुष्कर्मों का विनाश करने में समर्थ हो सका। जनसाधारण में प्रचलित जनश्रुति के अनुसार तो यहाँ अनेक जीव भी तपस्यारत रहते हैं जिससे इस तीर्थ का प्रभाव और अधिक बढ़ जाता है।
