व्यास-स्थली बस्तली
महर्षि वेद व्यास की तपोस्थली
व्यास स्थली नामक इस तीर्थ का सम्बन्ध महर्षि व्यास से है जो पराशर के पुत्र और महाभारत के रचयिता थे। वामन पुराण और महाभारत के अनुसार महर्षि व्यास अपने पुत्र शुकदेव के गृहत्याग से बहुत दुखी होकर इसी स्थान पर आ कर रहने लगे थे। तभी से इसका नाम व्यास स्थली पड़ा। महाभारत के अनुसार यहाँ स्नान-दान करने से हजारों गऊओं के दान का फल मिलता है तथा इस तीर्थ के सेवन से व्यक्ति को कभी पुत्र शोक नही होता है।

This tirth named Vyas-sthali is related to sage Vyasa who was the son of sage Parashar and the editor of the Mahabharata epic and Puranas. It is mentioned that sage Vyasa started to live at this place after being saddened as his son Shukdeva who had abandoned the world. Since then it was named as Vyas-sthali. According to the Mahabharata, bathing and making donation here gives the merits of donating thousands of cows. It is also said that by visiting this tirtha a person never
has to mourn the separation of his son.
