त्रिसंध्या तीर्थ, संधौली
सरस्वती नदी के पुरा प्रवाह मार्ग पर स्थित तीर्थ
त्रिसंध्या नामक यह तीर्थ सरस्वती नदी के एक पुरा प्रवाह मार्ग पर स्थित है। यहां से होकर सरस्वती पिहोवा नगर में प्रवेश करती थी। लोककथाओं के अनुसार इस तीर्थ पर महाभारत युद्ध के पश्चात कौरवों की सौ विधवाओं ने पवित्र स्नान किया और फिर वह सभी पास के एक अन्य तीर्थ सौरांडा पर सती हो गई थी। इस तीर्थ से 8वीं-9वीं शती ई. के राजपूत कालीन घाटों के अवशेष मिले हैं। यहां से 10वीं-11वीं शती की उमा-महेश्वर की प्रस्तर मूर्ति भी प्राप्त हुई है।
Trisandhya Tirtha Sandholi
Tirtha located on the palaeochanel of River Saraswati
This tirtha named Trisandhya is situated on one of the palaeochanel of River Saraswati which used to enter the town of Pehowa (ancient Prithudaka tirtha) after passing from here. According to folklore, hundred widows of Kauravas took holy bath at this tirtha and then all of them died willfully following sati dharma at nearby tirtha called Sauranda. Remains of an early medieval ghat, potteries and other artefacts of Rajput period dating 8th-9th century CE have been found from this tirtha. Stone image of Uma- Maheshwar belonging to 10th-11th century has also been found from here.
