वीर बर्बरीक श्याम तीर्थ सिसला
महाभारत युद्ध की घटना से सम्बन्धित तीर्थ
जनश्रुतियों के अनुसार इसी स्थल पर महाभारत युद्ध से पूर्व भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने घटोत्कच के पुत्र बर्बरीक का सिर दान में मांगा था जिसके बाद यह सिर पास के गांव सेरहदा में एक स्तंभ के ऊपर रखा गया था जहां से बर्बरीक ने अठारह दिनों तक संपूर्ण महाभारत युद्ध देखा। मन्दिर की उत्तर दिशा में स्थित तीर्थ सरोवर में अष्टकोण बुर्जियों वाले उत्तर-मध्यकालीन घाट हैं। तीर्थ सरोवर के पश्चिमी तट से 8वीं-9वीं शती ई० की राजपूत कालीन तथा पहली दूसरी शती ई. की कुषाण कालीन दीवारों के अवशेष मिले हैं। यहां वीर बर्बरीक के मुख्य मंदिर के गर्भगृह में लगभग 9वीं-10वीं शताब्दी की कुछ खण्डित मूर्तियां भी रखी हुई हैं।
Veer Barbarik Shyam Tirtha, Sisla
Tirtha related to the Mahabharata
According to folklore, before the Mahabharata war, Lord Krishna had asked for the head of Ghatotkach’s son Barbarik in donation here. After that his head was kept on a pillar in the nearby village Serhada from where Barbarik watched the entire Mahabharata war for eighteen days. The tirtha tank has Late medieval ghats with octagonal turrets. From the western bank of the tirtha tank remains of structures of 8th-9th century CE and structures of Kushan period of 1st-2nd century CE have been found. Some fragments of sculptures of 9th-10th century CE are placed in the sanctum-sanctorum of the temple of Barbarik.
