बालखिल्य ऋषियों की तपोस्थली
वामन पुराण के अनुसार यह बालखिल्य ऋषियों की तपोस्थली है जो सृष्टि की शुरुआत के समय भगवान ब्रह्मा से उत्पन्न हुए थे। स्थानीय मान्यताएं इस तीर्थ को शोभनी ऋषि के नाम से जानती हैं जो कि पौराणिक शोभरी ऋषि हो सकते हैं। तीर्थ के उत्तर में गाँव बालू से लगभग 2 कि.मी. की दूरी पर हड़प्पा काल का एक टीला है जहां से तीन संस्कृतियों पूर्व-हड़प्पा, विकसित हड़प्पा एवं उत्तर-हड़प्पा काल के अवशेष मिलते हैं।

The seat of penance of sages Balakhilyas
According to the Vaman Puran, this tirthas is the seat of penance of sages Balakhilyas who were born from Lord Brahma at the time of the beginning of the creation. According to local beliefs, this tirtha is also known as Shobhani Rishi tirtha who might have been the mythical sage Shobhari. To the north of the tirtha, at a distance of 2 km from village Balu, there is a mound of Harappan period, from where the remains of three cultures i.e. Pre-Harappan, Mature-Harappan and Late-Harappan period have been excavated.
