INTRODUCTION TO INTERNATIONAL GITA MAHOTSAV
The hallowed land of Kurukshetra in the State of Haryana in India is known as cradle of Indian civilization. Here on the eve of Mahabharata Battle Lord Krishna delivered eternal message of Gita thousands of years ago which has been a beacon light to radiate the deeper truth of a harmonious, ethical and spiritual existence. The anniversary of the deliverance of this great event is being celebrated in Kurukshetra every year as International Gita Mahotsav in which people from different parts of the globe participates.
This year for the first time we went international to organize Gita Mahotsav in Mauritius in the month of February, 2019. Message of Gita as epitome of peace and harmony was well received by the public of Mauritius.
Now in August Haryana Government through Kurukshetra Development Board is co organizing Gita Mahotsav in London from 9th-11th August in association with Social Cultural organizations of London
The opening ceremony of the festival will be held in Attlee Room, House of Lords, London UK.
On Saturday 10th August from 11.30 AM to 2.30 PMInternational Gita Seminar is scheduled in Logan hall University college London in which many dignitaries and scholars like Swami Gyanand ji Maharaj, Chief Minister Government of Haryana (India), Director Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan UK, Director Oxford Center for Hindu Studies and other scholars of Gita will give their address. About 900 attendees of several nationalities will be present in this seminar. Also their shall beGita Exhibition and book fair.
On Sunday 11th August at 10.00 AM in Shree Ram Mandir, Gita Yajna and Global Gita Chanting will be performed. At 11.30 AM Gita Sadbhavna Yatra will commence from Shree Ram mandir to Vishwa Hindu mandir and will return back to the Shree Ram Mandir at around 2.00 PM.
Exhibition will have display of pictorial depiction of the verses from Gita and quotes of world famous authorities on Gita. Profession wise guidance and inspiration from Gita will also be on display.
Devotees from India and UK will perform Gita yajna at Shree Ram Mandir, South Hall. Together all devotees will Chant 18 selected verses of Gita for the peace and harmony in the world.
